Toshi Mori

Adult jiu jitsu / Kid's jiu jitsu instructor

Toshi hails from Aomori. This prefecture in Northern Japan is known to breed warriors such as the grandfather of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Mitsuyo Maeda (coincidentally even went to the same high school!). Toshi’s jiu jitsu journey began 18 years ago after he moved to Portland for college.  He continued his training after he moved back Japan, returning to the US in 2009. He was awarded his black belt from Keisuke Andrew (founder of Enso Jiu Jitsu) in 2017.

Hans Han

Adult jiu jitsu / Kid's jiu jitsu instructor

Hans originates from Albuquerque, NM. The child of Taiwanese immigrants, Hans attempted to connect to his roots by spending much of his childhood pouring over martial arts books borrowed from the library and attempting to recreate the moves, often on his unsuspecting siblings. He then wrestled in high school finishing with a solidly mediocre record. He then had a break from grappling until he wandered into an MMA gym while living in Tokyo. He began his formal training after moving to Portland in 2009. It was here that he first trained with Toshi. Hans received his black belt from Keisuke Andrew in 2020.

Ryan Roberts

Adult jiu jitsu instructor

Ryan grew up in Portland and started wrestling at the age of 12 in 1993. He went on to be a team captain and an All State wrestler at David Douglas High School under the coaching of National Wrestling Hall of Fame member, Wayne Snoderly.  After graduating, Snoderly encouraged Ryan to start coaching and gave him the opportunity to volunteer coach for the next three years. This influence from Snoderly set Ryan on the path of being a life long grappler and developed a passion for both training and coaching. In 2011, Ryan started to train Judo at Portland Judo and is currently a Nidan (2nd degree black belt) under his Sensei Roy Kawaji. He is currently training under Elan Adre at Bridgetown Judo. Ryan also started to train Brazilian Jui Jitsu in around 2013 and received his Black Belt in Dec of 2023 from Enso Portland Instructors Toshi Mori and Hans Han.

As a former gym owner and current instructor, Warren's passion for martial arts shines through his teaching, inspiring students to reach their full potential. You’ll usually find him on the mats either working with people new to Jiu Jitsu or grabbing a favorite training partner to go over a new move that he’s just created in his head.

He began training in BJJ and Judo at Portland Judo at the age of 37. Chris was immediately captivated by the culture and community surrounding these martial arts and believes that BJJ and Judo are beneficial for everyone, regardless of age or experience. Since 2019, Chris has been coaching adult BJJ in both gi and no-gi styles. Marley Robbins

Kid's jiu jitsu instructor

A lifelong athlete, Marley has a deep-rooted history in various sports, with her main passions being soccer, track and field specializing in long distance running and pole vaulting, and roller derby where she excelled as a jammer. Her martial arts journey began in both judo and jiu jitsu under the guidance of Ray Huxen at Osagame in Philadelphia. After relocating to Seattle, she continued her training at Emerald City Judo and Framework Jiu Jitsu. It was during this time that she discovered her true passion for teaching, thanks to the incredible opportunity provided by Drew and Chrissie Vogel of Framework to instruct the Gracie Basics program for both children and adults. Marley is incredibly grateful to have both arts under the same roof once again and for the opportunity to continue her teaching career in both the judo and jiu jitsu children programs. When Marley isn’t on the mats, she’s embracing the outdoors—whether it’s skiing and snowboarding in the winter, kayaking and roller skating in the summer, or hiking year-round.
